Sir Malcolm Westmoreland is the brother to Garyth Westmoreland and the grandson of Wilton Westmoreland. Although considered a gifted knight, he has never taken challenges very seriously and is often criticized for his lack of discipline. He is not very fond of Faldric Oakley and was at one time enamored with Elisabeth Langley, though she did not return his affection.
Despite his seeming disatisfaction with the world, he has be shown to have a swift wit and is capable of speaking several languages. He has ridden in several tournaments and proven himself with lance and mace, though it is the sword he most often uses in actual combat. While not as storied as his brother, he is nevertheless a name known in many circles.
During the Duel of Debts Unpaid he fought Terrien Ashmoor to a draw and defeated Danyl Graves without scoring a victory blow. He was the overall victor of the duel. As a reward for his strong showing he was offered the hand of Edevyn Lichter, which he readily accepted.
During the War of the Light he served on the Western Front and rode alongside Elisabeth Langley. He won many honors but at the Second Siege of Silverlight lost his leg to cannon fire, where Elisabeth also lost her life.
He is a sullen man now.
