The House of Buzan (colloquially "House Buzan") is an old and defunct bloodline within the Kingdom of Lordaeron. Their seat was in Cedarfall, the principle holding in the county of Crownwood.  Their sigil is a black bear on a golden field. Their motto is "Much to Do," which implies that they will one day be known for having done many things.

Origins[]

Founded by Bjorn Buzan, Crownwood was originally a petty kingdom that enjoyed independence with the aid of its warlike people and strong, defensible boundaries.  It was annexed into the expanding Lordaeronian kingdom with little effort, offering its prized wood to the Menethil line in exchange for protection from stronger neighboring regions.

Known for their solitary manner, the Buzan family though proud had relatively little to show for their toils.  As Lordaeron was settled and politics began to take place, Crownwood found itself outpaced by competitors.  Despite this, it saw fortunate alliances forged with the houses of Albrecht and Trueflame.

Ultimately, the House of Buzan fell due to horrendous mismanagement at the hands of Jorn Buzan, the final Count of Crownwood come of Buzan blood.  His suspicious nature, married to ineptitude, saw the province lost to the Forsaken.

Important Buzans[]

  • Bjorn Buzan, founded the family line.
  • Claudia Buzan, the great-grandmother of Madelynne I. A stern woman that shaped culture in her time.
  • Jorn Buzan, lost everything.  Because he believed the lies told to him by his inept spymistress, he was slow to act and quick to flee.  Failed Highlord of the Silver Hand and a man often taken with comatose spells.
